| The Public Health Information Development Unit (PHIDU), with assistance from GISCA , has published ‘A Social Health Atlas of Australia’. Distribution of health status, accessibility and use of health services are mapped. The atlas makes health information accessible and understandable to public health planners, providers, researchers, students and the general public. The graphs of the Accessibility/Remoteness Index for Australia (ARIA) allows better understanding of differences in the statistics that describe health status and health service use. The atlas will assist policy, planning, monitoring and evaluation of health services. It is also of major importance for resource allocation at the broadest level, and between areas, services and population groups. . | ||
