| Electoral results reveal a great deal about the population they represent, and the social climate in which they were collected. This project is a preliminary step in examining electoral results over space and time, using Geographical Information Systems. Polling booths across Australia have been spatially located. Results recorded for each booth can then be displayed and analysed. The project adds a spatial component to Australian Electoral Commission Statistics, allowing spatial analysis to be performed. The project is ongoing. Future components of the analysis will be directed towards analysing longitudinal electoral trends. | |
